Startup Simulation is a 3 day event hosted by the Asian Business Students Association and the Management Information Systems Association as an initiative to provide an opportunity for students to design and create a start-up plan. This is where you can start turning your ideas into a reality. You'll make new friends and learn new skills with the help of industry professionals!

What's Startup Simulation?

Startup Simulation is a fusion between Case Competition and Hackathon, where you create an idea / business plan to solve a problem. You take care of building the idea. We'll take care of you.

How do teams work?

Teams have to be 3 - 4 people. You can sign up as a group or individually. Individuals signing up solo will be randomly assigned into a team. After signing up please venmo $10 (each person) to @TexasABSA as deposit. We will return the deposit at the end of the competition.

What's the event schedule?

Who can attend?

Startup Simulation is open to all UT Undergrads!

What should I bring?

Student ID, Laptop, Charger, and an extension cord (recommended).

I’ve never been to a case compettion like event and I’m nervous.

Don't be! Startup Simulation has beginner workshops to help you get started and running. We also assign you an industry professional as a mentor on the second day to help you with your idea!

I don't have any coding experience and I'm concerned I won't succeed :(

Don't worry! You do not need any programming experience whatsoever to succeed in this competition. A workshop will be provided to guide you through th use of Figma, an intuitive online tool to design an app interface for your startup idea. Although we encourage you to create the base design of an app using Figma, you are welcome to demonstrate your idea using any means you prefer (website, poster board, diagram, etc).
